Story

In many rural areas of Laos, children walk long distances to attend school—if a school exists at all. Many communities face:

  • Unsafe or temporary classrooms

  • Lack of desks, books, and learning materials

  • Poor sanitation and no clean water

  • Overcrowded or damaged school buildings

  • High dropout rates due to distance and conditions

Education is the foundation of development, yet thousands of children are denied a safe place to learn.

Without a proper school:

  • Children drop out early

  • Literacy rates remain low

  • Girls are especially at risk

  • Communities remain trapped in poverty

  • Future opportunities disappear

A school is not just a building—it is a gateway to opportunity.

This campaign aims to build a fully equipped school that will:

  • Provide safe classrooms for children

  • Improve access to education

  • Support trained teachers

  • Create a community learning hub

The goal is to ensure every child has a place to learn with dignity and hope.

The project will deliver:

  • School Construction
Safe classrooms built with durable materials.

  • Furniture & Learning Equipment
    Desks, chairs, blackboards, shelves.

  • Water & Sanitation Facilities
    Clean toilets and handwashing stations.

  • Learning Materials
    Books, stationery, teaching aids.

  • Teacher Support
Basic accommodation, training materials, and resources.

  • Community Engagement
    Parent committees and local involvement.

  • 300+ students supported each year

  • 20+ teachers employed or supported

  • Entire village community benefits

This project will:

  • Increase school enrollment and attendance

  • Reduce dropout rates

  • Improve literacy and life skills

  • Empower girls and marginalized children

  • Strengthen community development

  • Create generational change through education

Education lasts a lifetime.

Your support helps build a school that will serve children for decades. One classroom can change hundreds of lives.

You are building more than walls—you are building futures.

Frequently
asked questions

Many rural and remote communities in Laos lack safe and permanent school buildings. Children often study in temporary shelters, overcrowded classrooms, or travel long distances to reach the nearest school. These conditions lead to high dropout rates and poor learning outcomes. Building a school provides children with a safe, stable place to learn.

The project will benefit children from rural and underserved villages, particularly in provinces such as Phongsaly, Houaphanh, Sekong, Attapeu, Xieng Khouang, and rural areas of Savannakhet. These communities have limited access to education infrastructure and face high poverty levels.

The school will primarily serve primary-level students (ages 6–11), with the possibility of expanding to lower secondary levels depending on community needs, available funding, and government approval.

Locations are selected based on community needs assessments, distance to existing schools, number of children without access to education, safety concerns, and consultation with local authorities and village leaders.

Yes. Community involvement is essential. Parents, village leaders, and local committees participate in planning, construction support, school maintenance, and ensuring children attend school regularly. This helps create strong local ownership and sustainability.

The school will include safe classrooms, desks and chairs, blackboards, basic learning materials, clean water access, toilets, and handwashing facilities. Where possible, teacher rooms and small libraries will also be included.

Teachers will be coordinated through local education authorities. Support may include basic teaching materials, classroom resources, and where needed, assistance with accommodation or transportation to ensure teachers can work in remote areas.

All construction and spending are monitored through budgets, progress reports, and site inspections. Donors will receive regular updates, photos, and reports showing how funds are used and how construction progresses.

If funds exceed the target, additional resources will be used to improve the school (such as adding classrooms or learning materials), support teacher resources, or expand education access to nearby villages with similar needs.

A school serves generations of children. It improves literacy, increases future employment opportunities, empowers girls, reduces poverty, and strengthens the entire community. Education creates long-term social and economic development far beyond the initial construction.
