Story

In many rural villages across northern Cambodia, the elderly are among the most vulnerable.
They are the grandparents, the elders, the community storytellers — people who once worked the fields, raised families, and contributed to their villages’ growth.

But today, many elderly people face life alone.

Their children migrate for work.
Their income disappears.
Their health declines.
Their mobility weakens.
And the cost of food and medicine becomes too much to afford.

In the provinces of Odor Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, Pailin, and Battambang, thousands of elderly people are living:

  • Alone with no family support

  • In poor housing or temporary shelters

  • Without enough food

  • Without access to health care

  • With no mobility support (canes, walkers, wheelchairs)

  • In emotional loneliness and isolation

These elders are the foundation of our communities.
But many now face their hardest years unsupported.

This campaign exists to restore dignity, comfort, and care to the oldest members of our society.

Why These Provinces?

These four provinces experience high migration rates as younger adults move to cities or across borders for work.
Many elderly parents and grandparents remain behind with no stable support, especially in:

  • Rural Odor Meanchey

  • Border villages in Banteay Meanchey

  • Mountain communities in Pailin

  • Farming villages in Battambang

These elders urgently need ongoing community care.
