Story

1. Background of the Problem

Cambodia is facing serious environmental challenges due to deforestation, land degradation, climate change, and loss of biodiversity. Many provinces experience:

  • Forest loss and illegal logging

  • Soil erosion and reduced agricultural productivity

  • Increased floods and droughts

  • Loss of wildlife habitats

  • Rising temperatures and climate vulnerability

Communities in Rattanakiri, Mondulkiri, Kratie, Preah Vihear, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Speu, Koh Kong, Kampot, Pursat, and Battambang are directly affected.

Tree planting is one of the most effective and sustainable solutions to restore ecosystems and protect livelihoods.

2. Impact on Communities & Environment

Without environmental action:

  • Flooding and drought worsen

  • Farmers lose fertile land

  • Water sources dry up

  • Wildlife disappears

  • Communities face long-term climate risks

When trees are planted and protected, nature recovers and people thrive.

3. Project Purpose

This campaign aims to restore forests and strengthen climate resilience by:

  • Planting trees in deforested and vulnerable areas

  • Engaging local communities in conservation
